New football goals for Kingstone High

New football goals for Kingstone High

Following the successful bid, as voted for by the students, we have managed to replace the long standing football goals at Kingstone. The goals needed replacing as they no longer conformed to regulations and were unsafe to use.

The new goals have proved popular with the students, giving a more professional feel to lessons, training and fixtures. This has been matched with the success on the pitch this year, with 5 of our 8 representative teams qualifying for the knock out semi finals, with the winners getting to progress to Edgar Street. Our Year 9 team have also managed to advance to the final of the Rural Cup, being held at Edgar Street, 6pm kick off on 10th May. A number of teams across the age groups, both boys and girls' teams, have had success in the National Cups as well. We hope that this is the beginning of a long journey of success for football at Kingstone.

The honour of "christening" the new nets went to Year 10 student Harley Price as he struck first in a very impressive 4-1 win for the Year 10 team vs St Mary's.

Thanks to all that contributed towards the funding, the PTA team that for the fundraising events, and finally, to the students that voted for our bid.
