Welcome to Kingstone High School

Following the yesterday’s Government announcement that all Plan B measures will be removed in England, with a full return to Plan A, by Thursday 27 January.

Kingstone High School will continue to implement our current measures until the end of this week, Friday 21st. Students will continue to wear masks in lessons tomorrow unless exempt.

We have had just one or two students test positive on a LFD this week and hope that the continued wearing of masks and the weekend break will continue with this trend.   This will also allow us to return to an almost full staffing level in both the school and the canteen next week.

As of Monday 24th we will not be requesting students to wear face coverings in classrooms, unless they wish to do so.

Face masks will remain in corridors and communal areas, including transport until Thursday 27th

From Thursday 27 January, face coverings are no longer recommended in school; however, students may continue to wear a mask if they wish to do so.

Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.

Appointments will be available to book from Thursday afternoon, 13th January, and will close on Thursday 20th January at 15:30.

Please visit https://kingstonehigh.schoolcloud.co.uk to book your appointments.

GCSE Examinations

GCSE examinations are scheduled to go ahead in June 2022. However, there will be some adaptations to the exams. Despite this, it has been recommended that schools also run with a ‘Plan B’ in the event of a worst case scenario where exams are cancelled again. In line with Government guidance, we will be setting specific tasks and assessment opportunities which will feed into a possible Teacher Assessed Grade (TAG) in the event of such changes. Students will be informed which assessments and tasks will contribute to this so that they can fully prepare. This should not entail any additional workload for students as these tasks and assessments would have been part of their planned curriculum.

COVID Protocols

The following protocols remain in place:

  • Masks to be worn in any mixed space, including corridors and the dining room (and on buses), unless exempt, until 27th january.
  • Masks to be worn in classes, unless exempt for the rest of this week (to Friday 21st).
  • Hand sanitising to continue.
  • Timed entry into the dining room at lunchtime.
  • Students shall attend in their PE kit on the day they are timetabled to have core PE.
  • Test kits will continue to be provided
