Uniform & Equipment

The KHS uniform list is attached below.

PE Kit Guidance

On days when students have PE lessons they should come to school in their PE kit. Should students be unable to participate in PE, for whatever reason, it is still expected they attend school in PE kit to take part in the lesson in a non-active way.

All PE kit must be Kingstone branded, any uniform that does not meet this standard will need to be removed or changed for Kingstone items and should it reappear then it will be confiscated.

This mainly includes hoodies and shorts, and no outside sports clubs should be worn, regardless of the colour of the item.

Socks must be worn and these must be navy.  In the summer term white socks can be worn.

Some students will require outdoor footwear for the field when on topics such as rugby and football. Boots must be worn for these lessons: trainers will not suffice due to how boggy the field can get and we do not want students walking the mud around the school site.

If students arrive to school or to their PE lessons with incorrect uniform then spare clean kit will be issued to them by the PE staff. This is non-negotiable.

Please can we ask that jewellery and watches are removed, hair is tied up and inhalers/ epipens, if carried, are handed in to teachers at the start of lessons.

Finally, should there be any issues with any of the above , then please contact Mr Dan Thomas via email.   dthomas@kingstoneacademy.co.uk

Student Planners and Required Equipment

Each student will be provided with a student planner in which they will glue their timetable. The students also use the planner to record their homework and key assessments and targets for improvement.

We ask parents to check and sign the planner regularly to view homework set and encourage their child to progress.  Parents can also use the planner to communicate with school. Your child’s planner will be checked by their Personal Tutor during form time

Students are expected to come fully equipped with their planner, a reading book and appropriate equipment for each day’s lessons.  Access to an English dictionary at home is essential, and Collins Easy Learner French Dictionary is strongly recommended to support homework and class activities.  All students must be equipped with a pencil case containing the following equipment:

  • 2 writing pens either blue or black ink ( KS4 need black pens only for all exams)
  • 1 purple pen
  • HB pencil
  • 2B sketching pencil
  • 12 colouring pencils
  • Highlighter pen
  • Ruler, rubber and pencil sharpener
  • Calculator, Compass, protractor
  • Glue stick
  • USB stick
  • Multimedia headset (Earphones)
  • Reading book

Students should bring a named water bottle that they can refill during the day from one of our water coolers.
