Summer School 2021

Summer school August 2021

Kingstone High School held a transition summer school for students who would be starting at the school in year 7 in September. The school benefited from a grant of £11,456 from the DfE and the summer school places were made available to a maximum of 60 year 6 transitioning students.

The vision of the summer school was to give students an idea of some of the learning that they would encounter at Kingstone High School as well as supporting them in building positive relationships before they started at the school, therefore removing any anxieties, especially for the students who are coming from some of our smaller feeder primary schools.

The learning experiences were built around the theme of the Olympics with a number of activities and lessons taking place from flag designing to maths. There were also two off-site days where students were able to experience outdoor adventurous and team building activities, such as paddle-boarding and paintballing.
