Year 7 French
Students are taught in mixed ability form groups. All students follow the Studio French course and cover the following topics

Year 8
Students are taught in mixed ability form groups. All students follow the Studio French course this is differentiated between rouge – higher tier tasks and vert – foundation tier and covers the following topics:

Tu es branché – discussing TV, media and cinema – using three tenses to discuss past. Present and future activities |
Homework Information
Homework is set on a weekly basis and this will cover a variety of activities. Vocabulary learning is an essential part of homework and is checked regularly in class. We run a Golden 100 vocabulary learning challenge each term to encourage students to establish good vocabulary learning routines.
All homework assignments are posted on Go4Schools.
During school closures i.e. – snow/ lockdown work is posted and delivered via TEAMS on Microsoft Office

Year 9
Students are currently taught in mixed ability form groups. All students follow the Studio French course this is differentiated between rouge – higher tier tasks aimed at higher ability students and vert – foundation tier grades 1-4 at GCSE. In Year 9 we follow the AQA GCSE French 3 year scheme of work and start the teaching and learning of the key GCSE themes and topics. We focus on the grammar in preparation for GCSE next year.

Year 10 GCSE Option French
GCSE French follows the AQA GCSE 9-1 course in French. Students are already aware of the topics following their work in Year 9. GCSE now takes this knowledge further concentrating more on consolidating what has already been learnt and extending students vocabulary knowledge and understanding.
