Congratulations to our Year 10 and 11 students
Students and staff at Kingstone High School, celebrated another good year with most students achieving or exceeding their individual target grades. 76% achieving a standard pass in English with 62% achieving strong passes 25% achieving a grade 7-9 in English and 20% achieved a grade 7-9 in Maths.
The school increased the percentage of students passing the EBacc to 31%.
There were several impressive individual performances with Louise Ross-Hoffman achieving three Grade 9s and Faith Cooke with five Grade 8s and three 7’s. Grade 9s were also achieved by a number of other students in Literature as well as English Language, Maths & Science.
Our Year 10s who sat their GCSE a year early have also performed impressively which bodes well for next year which we look forward to with great enthusiasm.
It is a privilege to be able to see the hard work of staff and students as well as the support of parents, being rewarded in this way.
At Kingstone we aim to provide a personalised curriculum which will engage, inspire and challenge all our students. We believe that learning experiences should extend beyond the classroom and across subject boundaries. All students have opportunities to participate in a local, national and international trips and activity days and events which will support and add value to their learning. We also offer a huge range of extra-curricular activities which offer something for everyone.
Years 7, 8 and 9 study a broad range of subjects which not only prepares them for their examination courses to come but also develops their skills as learners and young people. Students are taught either in sets or in mixed ability groups depending on the subject.
Years 10 & 11 students study a compulsory core curriculum which comprises English, Science, Maths and PE. The remainder of curriculum time comprises the option subjects. The Options Information button will give you deatiled information about each of the courses we offer.
