Year 8 Athletics Trials

A number of Year 8 students competed fantastically well across a number of events at the County Athletics Trials on Monday 13th June, even with the smaller squad size compared to some of the other schools that attended from the county.

In the sprint events, students competed in heats, before moving into finals for an overall position across the county.

Below are some results from our students:

  • Theodore S - 3rd 300m, 4th Discus
  • Oliver L - 4th 1500m
  • Kacper B - 4th Long Jump
  • Harry R - 4th High Jump
  • Chloe B - 2nd Shot Put, 3rd Discus
  • Khemma M - 8th Javelin
  • Scarlett R-P - 6th High Jump
  • Taylor M - 7th 100m

If you see any of the above students, please congratulate them on their achievements. Some of them have also set new school records as a result of their efforts.

Rounders update

Last week, Year 9 girls took on The Hereford Academy in a Rounders fixture. We had a mixture of players, some club members and others representing the school for the first time.

The girls did very well in their first innings scoring 9 ½ to 9 against The Academy. With extra time, players had another 11 balls each but unfortunately gave away lots of ½ Rounder’s for “no balls” when bowling. Nevertheless, it was a great team performance and the girls should be proud of their efforts.

Final score was 14 KHS and 15 ½ to The Academy.

*As voted by The Academy, Player of the Match went to Bel H for being an excellent back-stop position for the team.

*Special recognition to Madison A for stepping up and representing the school for the first time.

Please congratulate the following students - it is great to see more girls engaging in PE and extra-curricular!
