KHS holds E-Safety Day

Before the half-term break, Kingstone High School held an E-Safety Day, which promoted the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

This linked to Safer Internet Day 2002 which aims to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively.

Students had a different timetable for the day, which included a number of activities, including an E-Safety session with Vikki Bott, Teacher Consultant for Computing/Online Safety from Entrust, who delivered a presentation via Teams discussing the benefits and drawbacks of social media, providing students with advice on how to use it safely.

In addition, guest speakers from the West Mercia Police Force talked to students about the potential issues concerning drug abuse and inappropriate social media use, as well as future consequences. PR professional, Richard Hillgrove, held Youth Parliament sessions and spoke about life in politics and how young people can get involved.

Overall, it was a very successful day and the students were great ambassadors for Kingstone High School.
