Kingstone High School is here to help you through the transition to High School.
When you come to Kingstone High School Academy you will be in a form group with other students, where you will get to know your form tutor. As well as form tutors, we have a Pastoral Support Worker who will also help you to settle into Kingstone Academy.
In Year 5, pupils from our feeder primary school teachers will have opportunities to extend their learning through using Academy facilities or through lessons being led at some points in the year by Kingstone High School.
You will meet the Key Stage 3 Pastoral Lead from Kingstone High School and have the opportunity to ask questions about transferring to Kingstone High School.
In Year 6, you will be visited by the Key Stage 3 Pastoral Lead on a number of occasions to meet and talk about transferring to Kingstone High School. You will have chances to work with the Key Stage 3 Pastoral Lead and other Kingstone High School staff at your primary school.
On other occasions, your year group will be invited to Kingstone High School to have learning days using the facilities that the academy has to offer. This could be led by either your own primary school teachers or teachers from Kingstone High School.
In the Summer Term, all students in Year 6 who have chosen Kingstone High School, will be invited to our Induction Day and to an Induction Evening.
On the Induction Day, you will have the chance to experience a range of lessons with Kingstone High School teachers. The Induction Evening is an opportunity for parents and carers and their children meet and spend time with form tutors, share any concerns and explore Kingstone High School further.
Some students will attend Kingstone High School on additional days to ensure a smooth transition.
